ACTIVATING THE CREEK

 

The Activating Chollas Creek Through Art & Sustainable Design plan, aims to transform Chollas Creek from a hidden and neglected waterway into a linear urban park, becoming a historic, geographic, symbolic and civic focal point.

Collaborating with Estrada Land Planning, Creatif's design includes archways and seating

as an homage to the first settlers of the creek (the Kumeyaay tribe, known to this day as sophisticated basket weavers), an extended fence and solar lights which evoke imagery

of the native Chollas plant. Commissioned by Jacobs Center for Neighborhood Innovation.
